Verna Gavin

Father and daughter on Verna's wedding day.

Mrs James Kellock of Huntsville has died (after 1987)

Her many friends in Huntsville and Bracebridge were saddened to learn of the death at Toronto General Hospital on Wednesday, March 18th, of Mrs. James Kellock, of 23 Fairy Avenue, Huntsville. The service at the Addison Funeral Home took place on Friday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. James Oben, of Trinity United Church. Mrs Kellock was the former Miss Verna Gavin, youngest member of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gavin. She grew up and attended school in Bracebridge, the family home being on James Street, on the south-east corner of Ida Street. For some time Mrs. Kellock was engaged in secretarial work at the law office of the late R. M. Best, until the family moved to Northern Ontario. Later she was at Hamilton until enlisting during World War II in the Canadian Army Women's Corp (C.W.A.C.). Soon after the war [1944?], she and James Kellock were married and made their home at Huntsville. Mr. Kellock passed away a year and three days before the death of his wife. Mrs. Kellock leaves two daughters, Susan Kellock of Cambridge, and Kathy, Mrs. Ronald Dyer, of Arnprior. A son, Gavin, died in childhood. She leaves a brother, Ivan Gavin of Sault Ste. Marie, and sister, Inez, Mrs. Walter Timlin of Frankville. Two brothers, Gordon and Donald Gavin, predeceased her.
