Weddings (From a Bracebridge Paper)
Timlin-Gavin
A pretty wedding took place on Wednesday, December 31st, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Gavin, James Street (Bracebridge), when their elder daughter, Inez, became the bride of Mr. Walter J. Timlin of Stayner, formerly accountant in the Bank of Nova Scotia, Bracebridge. Rev. A.C. Hie of Bracebridge United Church performed the ceremony. The house was beautiful with evergreen boughs, cut flowers, coloured lights, and other pretty decorations. The ceremony took place beneath a beautiful arch in the drawing room. The bride entered the drawing room on the arm of her father, to the strains of the wedding march played by Miss Verna Gavin, sister of the bride. The bride was charmingly gowned in midnight blue Georgette, with shoes of the same shade. Around her head she wore a beautiful band of brilliants and orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of roses, lilies of the valley and maiden hair fern. During the signing of the register, Miss Alma Peacock sweetly sang "Until." After the ceremony, a bountiful buffet luncheon was served. The groom's gift to the bride was a white gold wrist watch, to the pianist, Miss Verna Gavin, a silver compact and to the soloist, Miss Peacock, a silver necklace. The guests were relatives and intimate friends of the family. After the luncheon, the happy couple left by motor, amidst hearty good wishes and showers of confetti, for various southern points. They will reside in Stayner where the groom has been in business for sometime.
