Matthew & Marion Gavin had four daughters:
Agnes, born 1851/52 in Ontario = Thomas Hunter, Married 1876 PEI
Sarah, born 1855 in Ontario
Jennie, born 1862 in Ontario = Theodore Howard(?) living next door to Hunters in 1900 in Olga Township, Cavalier County, North Dakota. With them is a Mary Gavin, 16 year old niece
Ellen, born 1868 in Prince Edward Island
The two eldest daughters only appear with their parents in the 1861 census in Lanark County. They are not with Marion in the 1881 census and would have been between 25 and 30 and possibly married.
The IGI has a submission for an Agnes Gavin, daughter of Matthew and Marion, who married Thomas Hunter in 1876. The 1900 Census for North Dakota shows the family of Thomas Hunter and Agnes (both born Canada)
living in Olga Township, Cavalier County. Their two eldest children are shown as born in Canada. This same family is in St. Thomas, Pembina Co, North Dakota in the 1910 census. They are in the 1920 and 1930 census for Los Angeles, California. In 1930, Thomas is 79 and Agnes is 78. There is a large family living together with two unmarried sons, and possibly the children of a third son.
