The Horn(e)s of Lanark County

The immigration record of August, 1820 reports that James Horn arrived on the ship Brock in a group of '1 man, 1 woman, **8 children ( 3 males over 12, 2 males under 12, 1 female over 12, 2 females under 12)'

Family history holds that they came with three children in a group of 3 children and 2 adults. On October 21, 1820, they settled on Lot 10 Rear/East of Concession I of Lanark Township. In 1834, they were apparently living on Lot 15 West of Concession II of Lanark Township and that it was 'mostly a little lake.'
